cellular choices - wirefly - inpc - inphonics is a lying, cheating, deceiving bunch of criminals. You will never get a rebate from these people without legal action. Hopefully someone chooses to file criminal charges as well.

Update on my previous report. As I said, I bought 2 phones in May 06. Inphonic filed for bankruptcy and yes my name is listed as they owe me a rebate. But, I think I will never see it! They messed around with processing my rebate because they KNEW that they were going to file bankruptcy and would get away with it. Wirefly is still in business. They actually had the gall to send me an email several months ago saying that they knew they owed me for a rebate, were sorry, and offered me $100 if I would buy something else from them. This is THE LAST COMPANY IN THE WORLD THAT I WOULD EVER BUY FROM AGAIN! How stupid do they think that I am??!! Once scorned, once burned, never again! Wirefly is the worst company in the world! I will tell everyone!

Had a total of $280 in rebates on two phones. First two were rejected because of extreme requirements. The second two are supposed to be on their way, but after 14 weeks, I still haven't seen them. I have called the company and in 1st week of Sept. They claimed that these two rebates were being processed and everything looked OK. Now, I don't really expect to receive them, since Inphonic has filed Chp.11...yet, they are still in business! Don't use them please! I will never use Wirefly again!

PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE!!! You all need to go online & file a complaint with the BBB-you do it right online-very easy. After filing my complaint,I received two of my rebates. Also go on your states attorney general's office & file a complaint. Everyone just let's them get away with it & it won't stop. Please, it's your money & you have to fight for it! Don't bother calling & arguing- it get's you nowhere. Enough complaints to the bbb & attorney general & they'll be shut down.

Inphonics could not operate as it does without the tacit consent of its cell phone service company clients. It has been impossible to determine if Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc. are (a) aware of the business practices of Inphonics or (b) completely oblivious to the breadth and scope of consumer complaints or (c) aware and selectively indifferent. It doesn't matter. Either they know or should have known that a marketing agent for their services has been inducing customers with (a) deceptive practices and/or (b) choreographing a very clever obstacle course to deter consumers from pursuing the rebates to which they are entitled. Some of the machinations used to 'qualify' customers for rebates are as ingenious as they are ludicrous. Holding the cell phone companies feet to the fire, a class action lawsuit, criminal investigations by States' Attorneys General, sharing information and incidents incidents online and with Consumers Union, and the news media will ultimately effect change. Calling Inphonics or Wirefly is a waste of time and energy. They have erected a sophisticated filtering and contact avoidance system. A Complete List of Attorneys General is available @ http://www.naag.org/ag/full_ag_table.php Good Luck

I purchased two cell phones from Wirefly for $99 each and service from Verizon in May 2006. The first rebate for $30 could not be submitted until 120 days after activation & $70 could not be sent until 180 days & NLT 210 days. I had no knowledge of how the rebate would be processed when I purchased the phone and it appears that this rebate process policy is established in the hope that people will forget about submitting their rebate request. Finally got $30 ea in Jan 07 (over 7 mo after phone purch and over 3 months after sending rebate request). They denied my $70 ea stating the postmark was 2 days after the 210 day postmark deadline although I mailed 2 days before the deadline (doesn't take the PO 4 days to postmark envelopes). After talking to the rebate center supervisor who refused to budge, I called Wirefly & got a phone number for their direct rebate center (1-866-274-8573) and was told that they would honor my claim but could not see status for another 15 business days. So MAYBE I will get my final rebate a year after I purchased the phones. Anyone having trouble should call the Wirefly direct rebate center # above and complain. Hope this helps anyone having trouble! Another problem with this whole process was that Wirefly "activated" my phones the day before they were shipped and I was charged for 4 days service that I did not use the phones. This activation date was also used to calculate the number of days that my envelope should be postmarked. If I had known how the rebate process worked, I would of purchased my phones elsewhere.

Thinking the website has a golden lock on bottom right of page, it might be alright to purchase from them. Didn't find out until later that the rebate processing will take more then 9 months. I did get my money after warning them on phone that I'll report to BBB but later on they just disconnected their 800 phone number. I was hopeless. Then kept emailing them. They responded (very late) that there was a mistake in the forms, I had copies of them and it had everything they had requested, re-sent the forms, this time it worked (had been 5 months already). After NINE months, I did get my money back on 3 motorola Razr phone ($200 each). You've to be very pursuasive to get your hard earned money back. DON'T GIVE UP!!!

I purchase my cell phone last year in March and have been going back and forth trying to get my rebates. At one point I was told that my rebates were being denied because my former carrier did not submit a disconnect advisment...blah, blah, blah. Then I was told that a review had been done and that my rebates were being processed. I know now never ever to purchase anything like this online and I won't ever purchase anything that has a mail-in rebate attached.

Rebate requires copies of multiple Verizon invoices showing account in good service. I bought a pair of phones. The phones costed $100 and came with $30 and $70 rebates, making them effectively free, but the first rebate has been denied as the "Wireless Rebate Processing Center" informs me that my rebate submission, which was to be postmarked within 120 days after activation, was postmarked 14 days too late. So that's $30 x 2 phones I won't be seeing. In my call to them they confirmed my rebate submission for the $70 rebate arrived and appears to be complete. We'll see if the checks ($70 x 2 checks) ever actually arrive.

Purchased a Razar cellphone in March. Supposed to be free with rebates. Got the first rebate of $75.00 about 4 months after submission, only after submitting a 2nd submission by certified mail. The $95.00 rebate was denied. At first they said they never got it, now they say I returned the phone! I still have the phone! I also purchased a "Motorola" car charger with this order. When I returned it to the manufacturer for service, they said it wasn't one of theirs, however, my invoice with Wirefly specifically says "Motorola" car charger. I finally had to file a complaint with my credit card company to get the money back on the car charger since it stopped working 30 days after receipt! Linda

It has now been a year since I purchased two Motorola E815 Digital Phones with a promise of rebate of $150 x 2 = $300. The Check rebate web site is telling me they have the paperwork and is being processed please allow 2-3 weeks for payment processing; however there is no date on when to start counting! I call the question or concerns number 866-607-9877 and get a message that there are so many calls ahead of me I might want to call back or a message saying the customer service center is now closed. WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! If a class action - count me in.

My wife and I purchased two razor phones through Wirefly. We were promised a rebate for both phones totaling $300.00. We have not seen the rebate. We were told our rebate was in review. We contacted Cingular and the Cingular representatives. The representatives admited that Wirefly was NOT provideding its customers with not only the rebates but with guaranteed upgrades. Cingular has contacted Wirefly twice to solve my particular issue. Cingular is tied to this company.Cingular doesn't seem to have the power to do anything about this vendor ripping off their customers. This is a blantant consumer scam. I suggest anyone else having this issue contact Cingular and get this "vendor" removed at Cingular Wireless- Customer Care 5020 Ashgrove Rd. Springfield, Illinois 62711. Good Luck Alex

I purchased a cell phone and one year T-Mobile service contract through Wirefly. I was promised a $170 rebate within 10 weeks of submitting my rebate form. 22 weeks later, I am still waiting. I called the rebate center repeatedly adn am confronted with a recorded message that irregularities were discovered in applications requiring reprocessing of all rebate applications. (Think about this -- they have all the records because they sold me the phone. All they have to do is verify from T Mobile that I paid my phone bills. With a computer, that can be achieved in seconds!!) The cell phone rebate web site is now broken -- the web page simply says "You have reached this page in error". When I call the rebate center, I am put on hold longer than I can afford to wait. Do not buy from Wirefly. It is not worth the trouble. Do you really want to chase down your rebate for a year, maybe never get it? Plus, it feels bad to be scammed. Select another supplier that is reputable, honest and has good customer service. The price up front may be slightly higher, but in the end, if you don't get your rebate, Wirefly is the worst deal, especially when you take into account the personal hassle they impose in their so-called rebate process!

Wirefly must be a scam!! I just tried to send an email to them about my rebate status and they have no email address to contact them on their website. "Are your rebates a scam? I purchased an Altell phone and plan through you after researching the best place to do this. Your website offered a $100 rebate on the phone. It was a very complicated rebate procedure with strange dates to comply with. I was finally approved by email for the rebate after owning the phone for a year. Now I get a letter saying that I am not approved and have to send in all my information again. But the phone message of the rebate center says they lost all our information. I have re-sent it all. Will I ever see this rebate?"

Man, I wish I checked this site out before I got scammed like the rest of you!!!! Same exact story - clicked on the banner ad on Yahoo claiming a free motorazr cell phone for free. Pay your 200 up front and if you submit all your forms properly, you will receive your money back in like 4 months. Figuring yahoo wouldn't do business with an unethical company, I bit. AND I even called Wirefly and asked the woman what exactly I should do to ensure I get my money back - 400 bucks is alot dough. She told me to do exactly as requested BUT make 3 copies of everything - submit the first in the time allowed, then wait 10 business days and submit the second batch just in case they didn't receive the first one.Keep the third copy just in case. Well, the website says that I am due a rebate for 400 but I have yet to see that. STAY AWAY from wirefly - do not believe them - they are an unethical reprehensible company. The last word I got from wirefly was they "experienced some entry submission difficulties and have to reprocess all the claims over again." That is the biggest load of BS I have ever heard. Basically, we all got ripped off.

I purchased two RAZR's with the Wirefly "free after rebate" off. I followed their rebate instructions. I received acknowledgment the first week of April 06 both rebates were fine & it would be 8 to 10 weeks. I followed up again mid June and was advised both valid rebates were being processed and it could take 10 to 12 weeks additional time to process and mail the checks to me. as it has now been an additional 19 weeks (not 10 to 12weeks) I checked their web site inphonicrebatestatus.com only to find the excuse "InPhonic is reprocessing your submission with a new service provider and will contact you with further information regarding your rebate request. You will receive a letter or postcard describing this problem. The letter or postcard may have instructions on how to correct this error." It is a pity this level of customer service is allowed to exist. The abililty to hide behind a web site and committ fraud through fradulant advertising should be a crime. It goes without saying I would never use Wirefly ,knowingly, again.

I have sent several e-mails to them and the last one I said I think I've been scammed (no response of course). When I try to re-direct to that website it it no longer there and the 800 number no one ever answers. Their last response was that they are unable to approve my rebate and will send me a letter or a postcard. Since it seemed like such a good deal my parents also ordered two phones. For a total of $800.00 in rebates after submitting all necessary paperwork we were each informed that our rebate requests were denied. I received the too late excuse and my parents postcard stated the "incorrect bill was submitted". This is hysterical since we both submitted the same information at the same time.
