I started the rebate process months ago and Smith Micro/Allume Systems absolutely refuses to honor their rebates. Apparently this is a habit for them. I originally sent in two rebates for a single product in the same envelope (as instructed). I had read that Smith Micro had a nasty reputation for honoring rebates so I actually videotaped the whole process from my end. The first response I got from them was a card in the mail saying that my rebate was denied due to the fact that I did not send in the original UPC... Well, I have proof that it was included on video. Next, I sent them a letter and copies off all submission materials to the resubmisison department, and even though I explained that I was documenting the whole process and underlined the fact that there were two rebates included, they proceed to send me only one of the rebates (the smaller $10 one, with no mention from them whatsoever about the $18 rebate). So I send them yet another letter and more copies of the submission materials, again explaining that I'm documenting the whole process and how I'd never received the $18 rebate despite sending in all requested materials and following all instructions. Smith Micro has not responded yet and it has been around 2 months since that last letter was sent. At this point I'm sure they will never respond and I've never been able to find a contact number for them. This is outright fraud. These people need to pay, both literally and figuratively.

I constantly submit rebates and have never had problems with missing materials. Smith Micro claims that I did not submit a completed registration card. I vividly remember filling out the card copying it for a second rebate and sending the original with this rebate. I always keep a checklist of the items that I send to make sure I include everything every time. I will NEVER buy anything from Smith Micro with or without a rebate. Don't offer rebates if you're not going to actually pay them.

This is the worst of the worst-my rebate was rejected for (3) missing or not completed items, all of which were included and highlighted to point out the required information. Thankfully, I kept copies. The people who operate "RESUBMISSIONS, P.O. Box 028516, Miami, FL" should be hauled off by the Attorney General--some errors are understandable--the rate of wrong rejects is well past the level of acceptability
