So you wait and contact them again and then from what I can see from ready many reports around the net (for example on fatwallet.com forums) they will pick 1 of several totally bogus reasons for saying your submission is invalid. I've read stuff about them claiming the serial # was missing even though people had copies showing it was on there, missing receipt even though people had copies of their submission with the receipt, that you submitted more than 1 rebate even though you didn't, that you sent it past the 30 day postmark cutoff even though you didn't (saw one person post they had a friend in post office who they always get to photocopy their envelope after it is hand cancelled and so could prove that Mach Speed was lying about that), etc. You get the idea. And when you reply back to tell them that their reason is wrong and you have documentation to prove it then they start ignoring you - it's amazing how the first couple emails (when they put you off and then give you their bogus denial reason are both really quick) but after that you can't get any reply at all to multiple emails sent over the course of weeks and months. There are just way too many of these kind of reports for it to be just an occasional mistake. I suggest everyone file complaints against them with the Oklahoma Attorney General, with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov (you can file complaint online or phone it in), and with the Oklahoma BBB (although they have no actual enforcement power so make sure you do the other 2 first). Or if you happen to live in Oklahoma, pay them a visit in person on behalf of all the rest of us. Resubmitted forms, sent via certified mail which was signed for, but their rebate center right up to the end said they had not received the resubmitted form. Their response to the BBB said they contacted me and explained things to me which was a big fat LIE. The only contact was through their trouble ticket which was always responded to by "one person".
Also, their CPU sucks! It is running on a Celeron 2.93GHz processor and is no faster than the 500MHz PIII that it replaced. The built in video will not run current games.
To their credit, Tiger Direct's pressure on Mach Speed is, I'm sure, the ONLY reason I got my rebate.

Company does not deal "in good faith" and uses deceptive and fraudulent practices. Product itself performed OK but don't buy if you're looking to receive a rebate - without having to work hard to get it!!! |
