 I bought an HP laptop at Fry's Electronic in Phoenix in October. Although I followed the instruction to a T, they finally called and said I had to send them an additional letter, etc. etc. Mail in rebates are a scam. Don't consider them as a deduction from the price when you shop because you probably will never receive them.

 I sent in the required paperwork 4 months ago. I contacted their Rebate Dept, last month. I was told that it was being processed & call back in 2 weeks. I called back & was told that the check was mailed 2 weeks ago. Never got the check. I will never purchase another HP product again...Frauds!!!

 I submitted the rebate request form on time, and never heard anything back. I have still yet to receive a rebate and it has been 3 months. I contacted customer service and they have no record of receiving such. I am not optimistic. This is the 1st rebate (out of 40-50) that I have done in the past 10 years, which I have not yet received. Avoid HP rebates at all costs.

 Waited forever before contacting HP. Hp rebate center told me I would receive something by mail concerning the rebate. Never received anything. Contacted HP about the rebate and they had told me I needed to submit the model and serial numbers.(even though they were part of the original submission) They gave me what info needed and where to "fax" the new info to. After 20 faxes, I still haven't connected to their machine. I re-contacted HP about the fax not connecting and they said everything is OK with their machine. This time they gave me a mailing address to send the information to. I guess this will get lost in the mail !

 I was late sending in the rebate form. they was suppoes to receive it no later than 15 days after the sale. I mail it in on the 13th day. I did not get the rebate. Im mad about it, but I guess I'm at fault. I think all rebates should be taken off the sale price at the store. I will not buy anything with a rebate. I ask the store if they will take the rebate off the sale price and if they don't I don't buy it. Everyone needs to do the same. Out of all the rebates that I have gotten back, almost took a year. But most I forgot about and did not get them. This is what they hope happens to everyone. They can take their rebates and put them where the sun don't shine. I have had trouble with recepts printed on disappearing ink. All warranties want a copy of you sales slip. When you dig it out of the file, you find that you can no longer read it, because the ink has dissappeared. There is sevral stores using it. My advise is to make a copy as soon as you get one.  After too many calls to remember, it has now been 15 months since submitting all the paperwork, duplicates, faxes and other information the rebate center kept losing. As recently as a month ago a manager promised me a cheque in two weeks.

 Sent rebate form in about 12 weeks ago for a $50 rebate on a new HP desktop. Customer service says to call back but I could barely understand her to begin with so I won't bother. The website is schizophrenic. One week saying its on step two, the next saying step one, then the next saying its on step three. Then it said there was a problem with processing. Ugh. Still no rebate.

 I have had a positive rebate experience, i followed the instructions on the rebate form, receipt, barcode labels from pc and printer and form, called customer service to inquire about details about rebate. Received in 8 weeks. Word of advice call the customer service number before mailing, Its kind of funny people use the words fraud or scam with rebates, its possible you didnt follow the instructions, or didnt take the time to read the form with th ms and conditions, If it was fraud or scam no one would get their money including myself, Also make copies of everything required.

 Annoying HP. They promised to send a HP portable hard drive worthed at $80 for a printer purchase. I sent the receipt & the delivery fee to them; they said it was all ok and I need to wait for 3 months. After 3 months, I receive nothing but another 2 emails stated I need to wait another 3 months. I contacted them & they said it was their mistake, but they cannot send out the item now & they advised me to keep on waiting. I am too tired to contact them again for just a $80 hard drive. Definitely I'm not going with HP again.

 Purchased computer with $70 printer rebate. Sent all paperwork that they requested and checked all boxes on the rebate form just to make sure I gave them everything they wanted. Today, I received a letter telling me I needed to include a copy of the receipt for the computer I bought. I gave them the computer serial # the printer serial #, copies of the UPC lables for both, checked all boxes of the things I needed to sent in and still I am "missing" something. Can't they see that I bought a computer and printer from the serial # and UPC lables. Also, I bought it from the HPstore on line so they should have a record. This is just a scam to keep my money longer to improve their cash flow or pad their books for the quarterly reports. Hope I see my money some day. This used to be a reputable company but from what I have read here and elsewhere their quality and customer service has gone down the tubes.

 I have made repeated attempts to correct problems with receiving my rebate and five months later I am still waiting. First they entered my purchase date incorrectly, then they corrected my submission date, then they denied based on my address, now they have mailed checks to an incorrect address.

 Submitted a rebate 10 weeks ago and still don't have my rebate. I check on line and it shows received but no movement. I called c/s and they said the UPC was not qualifying but after research it was. She advised she would resubmit and I should hear something in 6-8 weeks. I have already waited 10 weeks and now I have to wait 6-8 more. HORRIBLE!!!!!!

 I have sent my rebate request in now three times. The firt time I wrote down the ser. no and mod no. I received a letter of denied rebate due to wrong number applied. I photo copied the label ( denied a second time ) I sent the worthless labels in this time with a letter stating.. don't send me any more excuses and send me the rebate for god sakes. WORD TO ALL. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH HP OR THEIR REBATES. In my opinion, barter with the retailer and tell them to knock the rebate off of the price and tell them to trash the rebate. I am done....They are dirtbags and they know it.

 This is a timeline of the events that have transpired since I purchased my HP Pavilion Notebook (DV9310US) and began my, so far, lengthy battle to get a $50.00 rebate which was offered for the purchase of the indicated notebook. 6/6/07 I purchased a HP Pavilion Notebook (DV9310US) from Circuit City. 6/30/07 Mailed all requested rebate material. 7/9/07 Checked the HP Rebate center website and saw confirmation of receipt of my submission. 8/17/07 I checked website and found 'No record of submission' I called the rebate center a half dozen more times and spoke to several CSR's, 3 supervisors and 1 manager. I faxed a 'missing receipt' to each of them. 9/5/07 Emailed CEO of HP (Mark Hurd) 9/6/07 The last supervisor 'Joseph ID 54677'. said they had indeed received the receipt and nothing else was needed and I should receive my rebate in 10 business days. 9/17/07 I received email, again asking for the receipt from HP Escalation Team.What happened to the receipt that Joseph said he had? This email that prompted this request came from the email I sent to the CEO of HP. I faxed the entire rebate package to Shawn L ID-3684 at SLCYBERREP1@young-america.com. The next day I received email which stated “Your resubmission has been received and processed. Please allow 4 weeks to receive your rebate.” 9/22/2007 I checked the status of my rebate, it said Check has been mailed. Mail in rebates are SCAMS. They are designed to frustrate to consumer so he will give up the fight. Contact FTC and Consumer Affairs if you feel SCAMMED, I will. Better yet DON’T BUY ANYTHING WITH A MAIL IN REBATE, ESPECIALLY FROM HP.

 I bought the computer package in Nov., sent in all the forms, upc labels, receipts etc. I got my rebate from circuit city in a reasonable time, but HP denies getting it. They said they have no record of it even though I also sent the form on their website to get the rebate faster. They told me to resubmit the original receipts and it must have got lost in the mail. Why are rebates the only things to get lost in the mail? examples- HP, NTB,Webroot. I contacted HP twice still waiting. I'm done with the rebate thing.

 Purchased a computer , printer and monitor combination. promised a 170 rebate. People at staples sent rebate in for me. I recieved notice from hp that I needed to send in copies of invoice and serial NO. >I did that. Now when I try to track my rebate online it comes up with NOTHING.  Called to check on status and was told one was processed and the other needed monitor information that was fine. I receive the one check and a letter saying my rebate expired. And it took two months to process Hellooo!!!I just talked to one of the customer service agents and was told all I needed was information. Then I receive a letter it expired was because your mishandling of rebates. Never again with HP all DELL from now on at least customer service is better. Especially once I start my business which I will purchase all DELLS.

 I followed complete instructions to reveive the $100 rebate for the HP Laser jet printer purchase that was forced upon me when purchasing an Apple Computer. I had experienced a HP NON rebate on my prior purchase, and was extra careful to include exactly what was required. Two months later I get a rejection letter from Apple and no one knows how to reach HP. Apple says that they don't handle it to contact HP. I have gone round and round and have nothing. This is my second and last HP purchase. Please note that there is nothing wrong with the product - except the comapny scams people into buying it. This dishonesty must be stopped. Stop making false promises and stand on the quality of the product or pay the promised rebate to those who purchased in good faith. What a scam.

 Staples advertised this HP bundle deal with their "Easy Rebate" , no mailing, no hassles, etc. $50.00 rebate for the PC and $70.00 forHP 5440 printer when purchased all at one time. The on-line Staples rebate was a joke. Had to re-submit everything by mail (bar codes, receipts) then when I didn't get but $50, was told by HP(customer service?)that the $70 rebate resubmission should not have been mailed together with the other paperwork. Now I'm to re-do this again. Glad I kept copies of all. Now after four months I'll have to see if they will honor the copies since I'd already sent the originals.Attorney General's office is next stop if I don't get this rebate. Don't these companies know that they will lose customers just by word of mouth instead of gain??

 They send the cheque on a wrong address and somebody else cashed it. It is not myfault in the first place that they input the wrong coordinates.Now there are 9 months since I am trying to get my money back with not to much success. I made the purchase through Future Shop.

 Purchased this from Staples in May, submitted rebate within days. 3 months later still no check. Have contacted HP they say only a $15 check will be mailed within 2 weeks; which was what I was told when I called in July. They said to call back to request the other $15 in rebates. Explanation of problems are due to high demand for the rebate.

 I filed a rebate for 30 dollars off on a printer purchased from Staples. Sent in all documentation, did it exactly as they directed. Months later, I get a letter saying they were shooting me down because the date purchased didn't fit the rebate. I called immediately, spoke with CSR 1 who told me I was correct and she would 'look into it'. I said "hey, what's that mean?" and elicited a promise that she would call next day. She did not call. Of course. A week later I call, talk to CSR 2. She gives song and dance, says CSR 1 has the paperwork on her desk. I said fine, go get it. She does (on hold five minutes) then comes back and says 'Ok, you're right, you filed right dates, blah blah - and I'll see if we can mail you the rebate.' I said "no, go see right now - I'll hold' and another five minutes goes by. Then she talls me that she has to get it approved by her manager, because the rebate is now closed. She will call me back 'tomorrow'. Duh. A week later, I call again. Speak again with CSR 1. After long somg and dance (more time on hold, lots of bitching and moaning on my part, demanding they send the rebate, etc and etc), she says now that the rebate is going to be sent in 8-10 business days. That was two days ago, so we'll have to see. It is total baloney, I have heard of people having troubles with rebates but never though I would with HP.

 I mailed in a rebate from circuit city on a computer i ordered( $70 ) three months later i get a letter back saying I did not send the right information. and I needed to get it off the shipping box ( the barcode) well I sent this in to them already so how can i do it again.I guess I am out $70 due to circuit city rebate fraud.I will never never buy anything else from circuit city and none of my friends or family will either. the letter that came back was from hp so i dont know who is the biggest crook.

 On May10 I purchase a computer package from Staples in Wa. St. A easy rebate was offered after 5 weeks of checking status my offer was null. I contacted HP because Staples told me HP was conducting the rebate offer. After talking to 3 customer service reps and 1 superviser in charge of resolutions i was advised to resubmit my rebate thru staples and then to hp. I was given a po box number to resubmit my rebate offer and was told how frustrating it was for me that 5 weeks have passed. The experation date is July 1. By the time everything is entered in the computers i no i will be told my offer has expired. This situation has happened to me before. Im and just wondering if a consumer will ever get $170 back and a easy rebate. Let me tell you its not easy all i get is the run around from everyone. A very frustrated consumer.

 I bought a media center pc and HP advertised for $200 rebate for PC and Monitor. They send me a cheque for $50 for monitor and slept with the rebate cheque for the PC. After repeated queries and follow-up for 6 months, i didn't get the rebate. Every time they are asking repeated information and the service is pathetic.

 I purchased an HP LJ1320 printer on 22 March 2006 from Officemax, which was advertising the printer with the $100 rebate. The rebate printed on the register directly at the time of sale. The rebate contains no information regarding qualifying dates for the rebate -- only a 45 day expiration. I mailed the rebate with all materials after 20 days (verifying the printer does work in case I need to take it back in a box with a big hole where the UPC used to be). I received a notice that my rebate was being rejected because it was not purchased within the qualifying dates. Contacting the company results in the humanoid simply repeating this same information. Luckily, I have copies of all documentation to provide to the Texas Attorney General so they can investigate this fraud.

 On 02/19/2006, I purchased complete computer set: computer, monitor and printer, from Office Depot. According to advertising on these items I suppose receive from Office Depot $150 bundle rebate and $170 rebates from HP. All necessary paper work for above-mentioned rebates have been sending on 02/21/2006. However, all paperwork has been lost and I resubmitted everything again to HP. So far, I received just $20 from HP not $170 as I expected. When I called to HP Office, clerk explains to me that these two rebates for the same item and cannot process two rebate checks. Now I am wondering why above-mentioned company sent check with smaller amount of money?..

 CALLED SEVERAL TIMES. EACH TIME THEY TELL ME TO CALL BACK. THEY DO NOT UPDATE THEIR ON-LINE DATABASE TO NOTE MATERIAL RECEIVED BUT WHEN YOU CALL THEY SAY THEY HAVE IT. THE LAST TIME I CALLED THEY SAID CHECK WOULD BE SENT IN THREE WEEKS. IF THEY DO THAT WILL BE 16 WEEKS. WE'LL SEE!!!

 The idiots at HP rejected my rebate because their records stated that I had already owned it for a year (the PC I'd just bought!). They said I had to get the records changed to get the rebate, but of course I only had a few days to do it, and by then the rebate had expired. Crooks!!!

 I bought this on the HP website. There was also a $150 "instant rebate." I have never understood why they do that. Why didn't they just reduce the price by $150? I can sort of understand the mail-in rebates. They figure some people won't claim them, and they can have artificially low prices that way. But everyone gets the instant rebate. Anyway, I got the "instant" and the "mail-in," so I guess it worked out fine for me.
