I sent in all requirements for the free printer, one of my rebates was processed and for the other, I received this message:**** L - A Canon PIXMA MP160 Photo All-In-One AND any Desktop or Laptop Computer must be purchased in order to qualify for the rebate.; R - We did not receive a sales receipt with your request.; S - The receipt you submitted is from a non-qualifying store.;**** Well which one is the reason, did I not buy the notebook, did I buy the notebook but not include the sale receipt, or was the store non-qualifying? Since Office Depot printed the rebate form on their cash register, I know that it was a qualifying store. How do they have the $20 rebate and not the $50 rebate SINCE I MAILED THEM IN THE SAME ENVELOPE. I faxed my sales receipt over to them and now they are saying another 6-8 weeks. I purchased the notebook and printer on 2/23/07!!!!! I really didn't need a printer,I only paid for it because I assumed that I would get my $90 back. Never again, I will never buy anything else from Canon. Did I mention that they say they didn't receive my first fax. I had to refax the receipt 3 times!!!! Ridiculous!!!!

Purchased a Canon EOS 5D DSLR and 2 Canon Lenses during the Fall 2006 "Cash In With Canon" promotion. I followed the instructions TO THE LETTER, only to receive a postcard telling me my rebate was denied because I "didn't include the original UPC codes". BULLSHIT!! I even scotch-taped them to the document to prevent them from falling out of the envelope or something. I contacted the toll-free number on the postcard and informed them that I have a scanned copy of the UPC codes taped to the paper. The woman on the phone was very pleasant and spoke perfect English (which is rare these days for a CS dept...try getting that with Dell). She instructed me to send in the scanned copy along with the postcard and that will take care of the problem. OK...did that 45-DAYS AGO. Went online today to check my status and guess what...I'm not even in their system!! Called CS again and was connected immediately to a CS agent. It took a bit of searching but she found my resubmitted request and informed me it "should be in the mail within 30-days". YEAH RIGHT...and it "should be" a LOT easer to get a Goddamn rebate from Canon. The fact is, I would have purchased the lenses regardless of the rebate, but I probably would have waited for the price to come down on the 5D body if I wasn't going to get the $300 back. It is just VERY disappointing that a company as respected as Canon treats their LOYAL customers this way. Will I stop buying Canon camera equipment...no, but I sure as hell wont base my purchases on empty promises of money back ever again!!

Bought Toshiba Laptop at Fry's in Atlanta and was offered a "FREE" printer, only to be charged at counter and presented with TWO rebate forms. Sent everything in for $30 and $20 rebates but was denied $20 one because of PRIMARY and SECONDARY UPC code problem. Apparently you have to have the SECONDARY UPC appear in two envelopes at once with some type of quantum mechanical trickery if you want both rebates. $30 rebate never arrived, it's been five months. Watch the Atlanta Journal Constitution for customer goes crazy in Fry's soon!

Well I bought a notebook and got the "free" printer from Circuit City on January 30, 2007. Canon is refusing my rebate saying it was bought prior to the promotion period which is a lie. I sent in everything Circuit City gave me which clearly showed it was within the time frame. I didn't make copies so if anyone has that program number it would help, at least that's what I was told when I called Circuit City. Apparently Circuit City doesn't have it anywhere, I don't believe it. The Canon people were rude and not helpful at all, they were basically calling me a liar. I'm so angry right now. I didn't even want the printer! I have received $0 rebate money back, I should have just burned the $90 and saved myself the trouble. I have no respect for Circuit City or Canon, never again!!

its a long story, so i will cut to the case- the AG of California has sent a letter to canon to find out what's going on-largely i believe because of this web site! its obvious that the number of complaints leads me to think that Canon or the fulfillment agency is stalling or worse-denying rightful claims,at least on this particular printer- canons own words were to go after CC because they ARE not going to pay! I have explained, provided enough information that even a third grader could understand-so help me- i wouldn't be surprised if they employed kindergärtners to process these claims! the good news is- the AG will not tolerate this behavior- my thanks again to this site.

In December 2006, I purchased the Canon 30D. In January I sent in all the materials they requested to receive the $100 rebate. Several weeks later I received a small rejection card which read: "Unfortunately your rebate was declined for the following reason(s): A copy of the warranty card was not included." I had sent it in so I called the number provided on the card. The person I spoke to said they did have my warranty card, it's just that somehow the card didn't get scanned??? I’m now waiting to see if the rebate comes...

I purchased a Canon printer from Circuit City on 12/09/06. I submitted the rebate forms 12/15/2006. Canon received all rebate forms from me. According to my email Canon tracking report it was being PROCESSED! I followed the instructions completely and exactly as indicated. I copied all the rebate information I had sent,(as I thought a conflict was inevitable),I included sales receipt, ups code, secondary receipt (cut from box and taped to the rebate form)! Yesterday,(12/31/2007), I checked on the tracking status only to be informed that "unfortunately we are unable to send a rebate as you have failed to provide the sales receipt". I actually anticipated this reaction,(my reason behind copying all information sent). I emailed the rebate center with an attached sales receipt. It is now being REPROCESSED!Which I am told will be approximately 6 to 8 weeks! It seems rather odd that it would be an additional several weeks of processing. It appears to me that Canon in 6 to 8 weeks of (another processing), will undoubtedly attempt to find another reason to deny my rebates. I will never again Purchase a Canon product, nor will I trust Circuit City! I will be in contact with the Department of Consumer Affairs, The Better Business Bureau, the State of CA.ATTORNEY GENERAL and my Congress persons to rectify how alleged "REBATES" are offered!

Sent in 3 Proofs for Canon Pixma printer ($20, $20, $50). So far, Canon sent back card saying "Sent Primary Proof for secondary rebate, need Primary Proof"/won't pay, and "Sent Scondary Proof for primary rebate, need Secondary Proof"/won't pay. I checked these rebate forms very carefully before sending them to Canon. This is a scam that Canon's rebate contractor is now running. You won't see either of these $20 rebates. Still waiting for CompuUSA to honor their $50 rebate, but it's been over two months and I've heard nothing so far. Avoid the "Free Printer" scams the computer stores and Canon are now running! As you can see, many other people are finding out the same thing when they purchse a "free" Canon printer. Canon should be ashamed of this type of sleazy behavior.

I Purchased a Toshiba laptop w/Canon Printer on June 25, 2006. We were promised 2 different rebates for the printer, one for $20 and one for $50, making the printer free. All receipts and UPC cutouts were sent the next day. Over the next 2 1/2 months we received 4 different postcard stating our rebate request was rejected because of "primary" and "secondary" UPC needs, and original versus, copy receipts. We had sent in what Office Depot East(Evansville IN) provided us with, at purchase. Each time I sent copies of receipts and rebate slips, highlighting the instructions on the rebate slips, and explained AGAIN that they already had all the UPC cutouts from the box. After the 4th card I e-mailed Canon Customer Service Department and explained that I had no more UPC barcodes left to send them. I asked if they wanted me to send them the entire box. Travis H. from Canon Customer Service replied, stating that I need to follow the card instructions to receive my rebate. I replied to him AGAIN, telling him that there were no more barcodes on the box. That someone at Canon had inadvertantly or deliberately misplaced them. He e-mailed me again stating I could copy the inside page of the Users Manual with the Serial and Model numbers as well as the CD ROM number. I sent a copy of that today,to ATTN: Travis H. at Canon (9/11/06) along with copies of the e-mails that transpired between us(details highlighted), and anxiously await the next card. I am considering filing a complaint with the B.B.B. I also sent an E-mail to the aforementioned store, Office Depot East in Evansville, IN. I implored them to assist me in getting my rebate money, as they had a "deal" with Canon AND ME!!. As of today, I still have not heard from them. I will never purchase anything from Office Depot or Canon again. It seems to me that Canon and/or Office Depot are running a scam to keep the price of computers/accessories up. Pass this along, word of mouth speaks volumes.Cindi Kueber

"Free" Canon printer with purchase of laptop from Circuit City. 3 rebates required (1 hour to be sure all fine print addressed) received $50, but neither of the $20 ones. Company says "never received"!!! Next time I will turn down the "free" item.

After submitting accurate and timely documents to CANON, TOSHIBA, & OFFICE DEPOT - all on the same day - and then waiting three months, I checked the status of my rebate with CANON. Their response was "Submission not found". I could not locate a phone number for CANON, so I went to my local (and wonderful) Office Depot and told them my story, taking copies of my documents. They immediately rebated me $50.00. I'm sure they will have to "eat" that loss, but I will be a loyal customer of Depot for another 20 years. And I will never buy another CANON product if it's the last product available. DON'T DEAL WITH CANON.

I purchased Canon camera because they offered a $100 rebate. I mailed all the required materials well in time expecting my rebate to arrive. Instead I received a postcard telling me that I had sent my materials outside the date range they had posted! A totally false statement. I have totally lost confidence in Canon, however, I still have confidence in USA Government and hope they will not Canon commit acts of highway robberies and get away with it.

Canon refused issue my rebate because they said I purchased the printer after the promotion period. Clearly, I faxed their FORM and underlined the promotion date showing that I purchased the printer within the stated time period. After insisting to talk to their supervisor, they hung up on me !!! I called again and got the same run around. I never got to talk to a supervisor. DON'T BUY CANON PRODUCTS.

A crappy printer and a bunch of liars at Canon. If they do send a rebate , they will put it on a small flimsy card - that you may just throw away as junk mail.

They used the "product not purchased in the specified timeframe" line. It clearly shows on the store receipt the date was within the rebate period. $30 is not worth the hassle to call and call trying to get resolution.

This company's rebate system is a total FRAUD. They lie about the rebate and steal your money. It's been 8 months since I've been verbally promised that the rebate has been issued to me on the phone. I called them, emailed them and they acknowledged my rebate and told me it will be mailed out soon. I called again and now they say there's an error in my submission but wont say what that error is. These people are theives. I'll never buy another canon digital camera or printer again. I bought a minolta z5 camera but they didn't mail my rebate either.

I sent in for my $75.00 rebate from a camera that bought in January 2006 I sent out 2 Rebates on the same day and I recieved my rebate for $30.00 for Haticthi from my memory card in early March. I Email Conon from the website that you can track your rebate on, andf they replied that my rebate was being fulfiled ,and I should be recieving it. Then, I never got it, so I called them and they said thatthey had NO record of my name for a rebate in there systems. I told them that I recieved a reply back fom sone of your representives about 4 weeks ago. Unfortunately I deleted my all my E-mails. I did not think that I would need that e-mail, Well, needless to say, I STILL have not gotten my rebate,4 months later. I am a photographer ,and I was going to purchase a very expensive picture printer throught them and now i will NEVER purcahse anything from them again. POOR customer service, I was very disappointed. Hopefully they still have my warrenty card on file! Or will that get lost too? My grade for them an F!

All necessary rebate information was sent. Rebate fulfillment stated the UPC was not received all though it was sent with the forms. Reponses from the rebate fulfillment center took between four and five weeks each and still no rebate as of April 24, 2006.

Canon has refused to pay the full amount owed in their "Fall 2005 Cash in with Canon" rebate offer. Their online rebate status page stated that I was in non-compliance for not submitting the printer "warranty card" with my submittal. I phoned the number given and spoke to their representative and advised them that no warranty card was ever included with the original merchandise. The only "warranty" provided is on page 51 of the Quick Start guide and it is not a "card". The representative agreed that this was their company’s mistake but that they could do nothing about it then, and to call back in 7 to 10 days. I called back in 10 days. Then their representative claimed I had been given credit for the warranty card, but that NOW my rebate could not be fully honored because I had sent the "secondary" UPC cutout instead of the "primary" UPC cutout from the printer. They said I needed to mail in the "primary" UPC cutout and gave me an address to mail it to. I asked what the difference between the UPC cutouts was and they couldn’t tell me. The original offer reads exactly as follows: "Attach the following: C. ORIGINAL cutout of UPC code(s) and body or lens number(s) from products(s)." Both the "primary" and "secondary" UPC code cutouts contain both the UPC code and the body number. There is no mention of "primary" or "secondary" UPC codes in the offer. Regardless I went ahead and mailed the "primary" UPC code along with a copy of page 51 of the Quick Start guide. Now in the mail I received a card from Canon stating that my rebate was declined because "a copy of the warranty card was not submitted". It instructs me to submit the missing items before 04/29/06. It also states: "You MUST INCLUDE THIS CARD with your resubmittance." Subsequently, I have gone online and found numerous websites where other customers are complaining of the very same fraudulent warranty card issues and delay tactics. If you are having similar problems, complain to Sta

I met all the requirements. The Canon rep told me my rebate was correctly submitted. I mailed it on Jan. 3, 2006. The rebate instructions said to wait 6-8 weeks. As of April 4, 2006 (3 months later!) I still don't have the rebate and the fulfillment center won't answer their phone. I waited a half hour in each of several attempts to get them on the phone. I pre-submitted the rebate claim online and got a submission number. The Canon rep I talked to said their fulfillment center was just "overwhelmed" by the response to the rebate, but Canon isn't doing ANYTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THEY KNOW THEY ARE HAVING. Has Canon actually deposited the money into the account so the rebate checks can be written? With their lackadaisical attitude, it is unclear who the culprit is: Canon or the fulfillment house. When you own several thousand dollars worth of a manufacturer's products and the company is supposed to be reputable, there is no excuse for this kind of service.

I bought a Canon printer, along with a Canon digital camera, so that I could get a rebate on both. That was the deal. I got one of the rebates. The smaller one, of course, for $20. I never go the $50 rebate for the printer. I called and e-mailed. I was told it was being sent. It never got here. I called again. It's now five months later and I'm no richer (and I'm not too excited about the next Canon rebate I see).
