Rebate never showed up on my list of pending rebates on Antec's online site. Contacted co via website and submited all requested information. After 3 e-mail exchanges asking for the same information, they said they could not find rebate submission. I resubmitted the rebate, they acknowledged receipt and I am now waiting since(April). They only have online CS for rebates. It take months to acknowledge receipt of rebates so you never know it they received them. At one time I had 4 rebates pending with Antec before they issued a check. Very slow.

ViewF  50AntecPower Supplies$20N/Ahonolulu, HI2007-09-26
Submitted 3 different rebates for power supplies, twice the rebate was rejected because they claimed I purchased it from the wrong retailer (newegg and compusa). Third attempt they claimed they never received at all. Never buy antec products that require rebate.
ViewF  43AntecComputer case$50N/ACullman, AL2006-08-02
Purchased case from Compusa with a $50 rebate. I submitted rebate with everything they asked for. I have photocopies. I received and card about 8 weeks later that said we cannot process your rebate because I sent the wrong barcode. There was only one barcode on the box. They have no way to complain to them. Don't buy Antec products. Their are not reliable people.

Secont time rebate, no problems. Rebate via Visa debit cards.
ViewB  86SaymantecNorton Rebate$304Westport, CT2009-05-31
Received 2 prepaid Visa Debit/Credit cards as a rebate for purchasing a Symantec product. Rebate cards arrived as expected and were for the correct $ amount. I signed no agreement at the time nor did I indicate that I accept their terms of the card. Apparently they impose a $3 "account maintenace fee" per month for every month there is an open balance on thier card starting 6 months after issuance of the original rebate. In addition to being a significant % of the o/s balance if they are going to issue rebates their should write a check that can be cashed, deposited or used for their products. Most rebate cards will end up with a small balance that really can't be used by the consumer so the company recovers these rebates when they charge the fees. When I tried contacting the number on the card 1-866-496-6189 I was not able to speak with a human. It was a voice response system and there was not "access" to an operator.

Much to my pleasant surprise, my experience with Symantes rebates in 2009 was more than excellent. All 4 rebates were filled within a month. I readily admit I hate getting cards rather than a check(obviously they're hoping that you won't use the full value on the cards), but I can't complain about Symantec's fulfillment service on rebates. This is a welcome change from a decade ago.

Easy to apply. Received two refunds (basic and upgrade) in less than promised time
ViewF  43SymantecNIS 2008$20N/AFort Worth, TX2008-06-23
I have upgraded NIS every year since 2003. I also have four -- three use liscenses. They always deny my valid rebate(s) for various reasons. Sometimes I resubmit and they will pay. Other times I file a compalint with the BBB for fraud and they suddenly determine that my rebate is valid. That is the best way to get the rebate. I am tired of fooling with this hassle EVERY time. When my licenses start to expire I will change to other vendor software -- probably Kaspersky.

Rebate card never arrived. I called Symantec but they told me that I needed to contact the card issuer. I had a hard time getting to an agent because it kept asking me for the card number. When I finally got an agent, a new card was issued and arrived within 5 days.

Submitted correct documentation 5 times. Could not ever reach a live person. Faxed info over and over, emailed customer service. They finally emailed me back and said the promotion is closed. Will never purchase anything from this company again!

What I sent to Symantec: I purchased a copy of Norton antivirus and QuickTax software at a Future Shop in Vancouver Canada. I filled in my rebate form as indicated and received a card in the mail that said I had send in an invalid UPC code. I contacted the rebate center who told me in fact I had purchased the product at a store not included in the rebate promotion. Of course there was no indication of this on any of the documentation that told the customer how to apply for the rebate. I was given your customer service number to call who told me that a Symantec representative would call m within 48 hours. I was not called. I called the customer server number again and was assured someone would call. Once again no one called. I called the customer service number again and it seemed the representative could find no information on the that call number. He transferred me back to the rebate line. I called again and was again directed back to the rebate line Obviously I am being given the run around or just plain being lied to. Not providing a rebate for reasons not indicted on the documentation provided is fraudulent. I will be forwarding this case to Canadian regulatory authorities. I will never be purchasing another Symantec product if I can avoid it. So for refusing to provide a 35 dollar rebate you have created an enormous amount of bad will and future business. If you ever choose to do something about this the case number was 89702172. The rebate number under the barcode on the response card was 23549361.

CAVEAT EMPTOR - beware the combined offer of a $30 rebate on the upgrade offer plus the $50 System Works/Personal Firewall offer. You're supposed to submit the UPC code from the newly purchased software box with both rebate forms. The only problem - there's only one UPC!! They responded quickly redeeming the $30 rebate. When I appealed their decision not to pay the $50 rebate, I never received an answer. A second letter went unanswered. I went on-line to appeal, only to be told my appeal was not timely. Subsequent faxing of all the documents proved futile. After at least 6 attempts to get someone to respond affirmatively, I was told the matter was closed - the rebate offer had ended! As one of the others commented, we can only "hope that some righteous executive from Symantec sees this and is able to initiate corrective business practices."

They received my rebate forms but improperly categorized it as a rebate for TaxCut. I notified them of the problem and they invalidated my rebate! When contacted they said it was my fault. I asked how I could ever have submitted a TaxCut rebate when I do not own the product. They refused to answer that question 7 times! It is IMPOSSIBLE for me to have known the TaxCut rebate offer number and/or to have addressed my rebate as they claim. They have refused to respond to my repeated requests for correction.

Called customer service they said they never received it and told me to send copies or fax. I mailed copies. Called again. They said they never received it again, the offer was over and there was nothing they could do. Talked to manager explained situation. He said there was nothing he could do. Sounded like he was reading a script. Said they are not responsible for lost or misdirected mail. I asked for someone who could help me and he said nobody in the entire company could help me get my rebate. He refused to transfer me to his manager. Hubby called back later and talked to same guy. Got to his manager. That guy said there was nothing he could do. He recited the same script about not being responsible for lost or misdirected mail. Refused to give his superiors name. I emailed the company telling them the whole story stating that surely it was worth paying the $50 rebate that was offered to keep a customer. No response. Don't buy Symantec! It's a very dishonest company with no customer service!

The rebate application was sent in on September 20, 2006 for SYmantec, Nol 209692674. I have retained copies of all rebate applications submitted. Symantec routinely denies the application as I update yearly. I was very exact filling out the form and all required attachments. I would be happy to email them to you. This outfit is using the US Mails as part of their scheme...it is a fraud on the public and you should go after them, as they will your company in trouble. I intend to report this to the AG office and Dept of Justice as a crime, and hope that they have enough peopole like me that find these practices unacceptable. Martin J. O'Malley

After contacting Symantec they fixed an error made by their rebate department. They say I will receive a check in 10-15 days. Go to their website and look for their top corporate person and they will respond

Sent in all the information necessary for my rebate but got a letter saying I did not send either Original Proof of purchase or email confirmation, missing proof of previous ownership. I know I sent everything to Symantec, but they are always like that.

I have had a terrible time with this company and they are in collaboration with Fry's Electronics to defraud the public but lousy state Attorney Generals do not want to do work for the public and make these companies pay. The AG has fought helping the public as much as the companies. I will not buy another Symantec product and, as a tech, I warn all that the product uses more compute power than any other job. Production on your system is lost to doing a Symantec shuffle.

Getting through to Customer service was a hassle. There menu is confusing, and they try their best to keep you from speaking to a live person. Past that, the person was helpful, and said that they mailed it to the wrong address. I have terrible handwriting, so maybe i believe them. So, the only bad experience was maybe getting to talk to a live person.

i sent all the requested info and yet they rejected the submission as lack of previous proof of purchase.i resubmitted the box from the previous year along with the photocopies i had.i will also never buy symantec products again. they pissed me off i think they are trying to rob me of a legitimate rebate.cannon did the same thing and the illinois atty. general got me the rebate of $50.00 which i donated to charity. the best thing to do is not to buy products from these companies again and let your relatives and friends know. let's hit them where it hurts in their pockets. as for me cannon and symantec products will not touch my computer again. i buy my cannon ink cartridges from the internet at huge savings and they work fine. good luck guys

I sent in the rebate and kept photocopies of everything. They denied the rebate saying "missing proof of previous ownership". Spoke to them on phone, and they located the proof of ownership and said check would follow. Now I check online and it is denied again!!

May, 2006 I purchased Norton SystemWorks 2006 Premier and mailed in a $50 rebate, offer # 06-47059. I have photo copies of everything I mailed, even the envelope, and it was correct in all respects. Over 9 weeks later I have received no rebate nor any communication from this company. Their online rebate site does not list under my name this rebate as having been received. I have e-mailed 3 times, going through this site, asking for information and but have never heard back. The site says that if I don't hear back to call 1-866-206-8800. I have called several times but get only automated choices that don't fit this circumstance -- no option to speak with a real person. How do you get through to them? Looks like I'm one more victim of their rebate rip-off.

Co. claimed they never received the proof of purchase which was submitted (in Feb) and asked me to resubmit to the resubmissions dept in another state, which was done (I had kept a copy, sent that with the proof of purchase circled)in Apr; called the hot line # several times and never received a call back - do not recommend using this company since they seem are unreliable.

Beware the Symantec (Norton) System Works 2005 combined offer of a $30 rebate on the basic software plus the $30 upgrade offer. The kicker is that one must submit the UPC code from the newly purchased software box with both rebate forms, an obvious impossibility! I submitted both rebate forms with the caveat that their offer was either flawed or purposefully deceitful. The upgrade rebate form was submitted sans the UPC code but with the previous Symantec CD as proof of ownership along with a detailed explanation of the duplicitous nature. The upgrade rebate form was disallowed as not meeting the requirements, i.e. the UPC code, and therefore disallowed.. Their rebate operations center personnel either are not equipped to understand the problem as outlined, or there is a subterfuge involved. A certified letter with return receipt explaining these circumstances was never acknowledged. There appears to be no other means to seek redress other than a warning such as this for other persons who should not take the bait. Try getting a “live” person with which to interact! Hope that some righteous executive from Symantec sees this and is able to initiate corrective business practices.
